Hello to old and new friends.  In 2015  I relaunched my independent landscape design business, Dumaine Landscape Designs, and it was a wonderfully productive first year.  I look forward to all the new projects to come.

I have a degree in Landscape Design and Horticulture from the University of Rhode Island and have based my career on the skills I developed at the prestigious Landscape Architecture Firm of Engle/GGP in NYC, as well as at Johnson & Richter in Avon.  I took a hiatus from my former independent design business, called Darlene Dumaine Landscape & Garden Design, to work as head designer for eight years at a large local design/build landscape company.  I am one of the few Landscape Designers in the state to be certified by the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD).

Drawing on my experience, I understand the big picture but  also have learned ways to tailor any project to meet the budget and style of any project, large or small.  My work can be seen throughout the state as well as distant locations where I have worked remotely, and is well known for its unique style, four seasons of interest, and beauty  that expands year after year.  I provide consulting services for small projects or for the “do-it-yourself” homeowner, and I  create computer-drafted plans for any size job.  I can help facilitate installation  services through my preferred landscape installers or provide guidance for clients who use an existing landscape company.

My experience spans all sizes and styles of landscape design ranging from small foundation plantings, poolscapes, and large-scale master plans that include hardscape and plant selection.  My  goal is to be your proven, trusted partner in the creation of a quality landscape for your residential or commercial property.

I look forward to learning more about your project!
